Local Live – Vol. 15

April 6, 2011

KVRX is up to it again. Their 15th anniversary volume of Local Live is due out in April, this time with an added DVD bonus disc! We were fortunate enough to be asked to participate. Our Local Live session of “Black Confetti” will be on the audio CD and the filmed version of “Chandeliers” will be on the DVD. To celebrate, they’re hosting a release party on April 15th at the Spiderhouse Ballroom. We’ll be playing, along with local darlings Marmalakes and a few other bands. More details to come as soon as we know ‘em!

NOLA

December 15, 2010

We took a weekend trip to New Orleans to wonder around, eat too much, and play at The Circle Bar, opening up for locals Vox and The Hound. The bar was packed, plus we got to play beneath a huge, rather evil-looking, Santa head.

And earlier in the trip, these exciting things happened: Bryan played with shrimp finger puppets, Mike dreamt of being a ferry boat captain, Andrea wrestled with a Hand Grenade, Jeremy was attacked by rogue powdered sugar, and Brandon got a giant eyebrow hair ripped out. Story in there somewhere, pretty sure.

Pink House 4!

December 6, 2010

The Pink House is just that, a pink house. It’s tucked away in a quiet neighborhood in east Austin and every few months or so the good people there throw a giant all day party with bands and food and kegs and enough fun to hurt you for days. Pink House 4 kept with that tradition. We played right as the sun was going down and a cold front was blowing in. Just a few of the highlights: The Mole People, Marcus Rubio & The Gospel Choir of Pillows, Boonesboro, and One Hundred Flowers.
